Dinamo Zagreb goalkeeper Eduardo has described his imminent move to Chelsea as the “opportunity of a lifetime” following what will be his last match for the Croatian champions, according to the Daily Mail.

The 34-cap Portugal international is set to join the Blues as Thibaut Courtois’ back-up, seemingly paving the way for Asmir Begovic to leave.

Eduardo’s switch to Chelsea has all but been confirmed by Dinamo’s manager, Zlatko Kranjcar, and now the player himself has spoken out after helping his current side to reach the Champions League.

The goalie featured as they overcame Red Bull Salzburg 3-2 on aggregate, granting them access to the group stage of the much-celebrated competition.

And speaking to the club’s official website (via the Daily Mail) after the match, the 33-year-old had his say on his looming transfer to Chelsea:

“At the same time I am happy and sad. This was beautiful story, but I got chance in a big club. It is the opportunity of a lifetime and I think I deserved it,

“I am leaving Dinamo when the club qualified for Champions League, I am thrilled for that success.

“I hope people will remember me in Zagreb as a person that always gave his best for the club and fans and that everyone will keep nice memories of me.

“I sure will have great memory of Dinamo and Zagreb and of all the people I played and worked with here.”

Eduardo has enjoyed a decent career at club level, playing in his homeland, Italy, Turkey and Croatia, winning two league titles in the latter.
