Chelsea have made a £35m offer for AC Milan centre-back Alessio Romagnoli, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
The Blues have been one of the least-active top sides in the Premier League during the current transfer window, signing only N’Golo Kante and Michy Batshuayi, albeit the pair cost a combined fee of around £65m.
However, reports claim that Antonio Conte is keen to draft in three more players before the transfer deadline next week, and that a £35m offer to make Romagnoli one of this trio has been made.
A central defender is believed to be the Italian tactician’s priority, and the Londoners are hopeful that their offer, which includes add-ons, will be enough to tempt the Serie A giants to sell despite their reluctance to let the 21-year-old go.
Romagnoli only joined the Rossoneri from Roma last summer, but Chelsea’s bid would hand Milan a significant profit on the £21m they paid.
Dinamo Zagreb’s 33-year-old goalkeeper Eduardo is believed to be on the verge of joining the Stamford Bridge side.
