World cup midfielder: Jose Mourinho loves me

Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko has suggested that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is a fan of him ahead of the summer transfer window.

Sissoko’s performances ultimately proved a rare positive in an otherwise disappointing 2014-15 campaign for the Magpies in which they were almost relegated.

The French midfielder, who featured in last summer’s World Cup, now claims to have won an admirer in Mourinho – and says that the admiration is mutual.

“Is he following my progress? According to what I am hearing, yes,” he told reporters.

“He is one of the best managers in the world. He has won so many titles… Any player would love to be coached by this man.

“For the moment, I am coached by other people. If one day I have the chance to work under his guidance, I would be very happy.”
