MLS outfit Orlando City will pass up the chance to sign Chelsea legend Didier Drogba this summer, according to reports.

The legendary striker, 37, is out of contract with the Blues but has no plans of bringing an end to his illustrious playing career just yet.

The Ivorian, who won his fourth Premier League title last season, hinted that his future lay in the United States after revealing that he was keen for a new challenge.

Orlando, who also boast Kaka in its ranks, were thought to be favourites for his signature, but reports from North America have suggested that Drogba’s salary demands were too extreme.

The report goes on to state that the striker wanted a $330,000-a-week deal [£215k] and that City were not willing to satisfy his wage demands.
