Eden Hazard has expressed an ambition to captain Chelsea at some point in the future.

The Belgian star, 24, led by example last season as he inspired the Blues to Premier League and Capital One Cup glory, culminating in a PFA Player of the Year gong.

Current captain John Terry was the steel to Hazard’s silk last term as he and centre-back partner Gary Cahill also played starring roles in the recent success.

Asked whether he harboured hopes to skipper the club one day, Hazard told Sky Sports News: “Yes, but in my club it’s one guy, called John Terry.

“If I can one day, no problem, but it’s not my objective. My objective is to play and win trophies.”
