Chelsea are reportedly weighing up a summer move for want-away Napoli hitman Gonzalo Higuain.

The Argentine’s future at Stadio San Paolo has been thrown into disarray in recent days following coach Rafael Benitez’s departure from the Serie A club.

The 27-year-old was reported to have been among those Napoli players attacked by fans last week following a defeat to Lazio which cost them Champions League qualification.

Consequently, Higuain, who netted 29 goals in all competitions last season, is keen to quit the Naples club and reports in Italy have touted the Blues to offer an escape route.

With Manchester United and Arsenal also linked, Chelsea are reportedly weighing up a £30m bid to thwart their rivals’ pursuit.

Chelsea fans – would Higuain be a good signing? Let us know below.

The lad would be bonkers to have AW as his mate! Higuain is a kinda player we need. Hes fast, good with the ball, knows where the goal is without the use of GPS and dead fast in the final third which would suit us well with our style of scoring from the break. At £30 mill hes the price that we seem to put on transfers generally so yeah why not
