Jose Mourinho has said that it is nigh-on impossible for him to lead Chelsea to the level of success that Sir Alex Ferguson achieved with Manchester United.

The legendary Scottish manager retired in 2013 after winning 13 Premier League titles and two Champions League crowns in a trophy-laden 25-year spell at Old Trafford.

Mourinho, who returned to English football months after Ferguson’s retirement, just claimed his third league title for the Blues on Saturday, but the Portuguese says that matching Fergie’s legacy is impossible.

”I have a long way to go, but Sir Alex left the bar in an impossible position for anyone. I cannot win 13 Premier Leagues,” he told reporters.

“I can win 13 championships. I can. I have eight, I think I can go to 13. But 13 Premier Leagues, no, no chance.”
