Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is weighing up a summer move for Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, according to reports.

Mourinho sent scouts to watch the France international in Saturday’s defeat at Everton and the Portuguese is now deciding whether or not to rival Arsenal for his signature, according to The Telegraph.

It is believed that the 25-year-old is the Blues’ third-choice option in the event that the Portuguese fails to lure one of Paul Pogba or Koke to Stamford Bridge.

Juventus ace Pogba, who is rated at around £74 million, is one of Europe’s hottest properties and Chelsea would face stiff competition, while Atletico Madrid’s Koke is thought to have told friends that he is keen to stay in Spain.

Is Schneiderlin – whose contract expires in 2017 – the man to sign? Let us know below.

One response to “Report: Chelsea to sign Morgan Schneiderlin”

  1. Alan Frank says:

Morgan Schneiderlin is a proven Premiership player with Champions League ambitions. At 25 years of age he would certainly add to the Chelsea first team squad and could prove an ideal partner for Nermanja Matic in front of Chelsea’s back four. Chelsea could really do with an option like this to release Fabregas to play further forward. An excellent defender and comfortable on the ball going forward it is no wonder that Jose is looking at this guy.
