This weekend will see the return of blood-thirsty barbarians going around eye-gouging and smashing the teeth out of their enemies’ mouths, but enough about Stoke City and let’s talk about Game of Thrones, shall we?

Indeed, everybody’s favourite television show will return to our screens soon and to celebrate, The Shed Ender has looked at four Chelsea players capable of surviving the cut-throat world of Westeros.

 Cesc Fabregas – Tyrion Lannister

One is a very intelligent little person who is usually around five steps ahead of his adverserays, and the other is Tyrion Lannister. Nuff said.

Oscar – Daenerys Targaryen

Both of them first came on the scene as fresh-faced timid youngsters and, well, we didn’t expect them to last long. Fast forward a few years and both have successfully shattered our preconceptions of them.

John Terry – The Mountain

JT may lack The Mountain’s size, but it is difficult to argue that the duo don’t share a certain resilience, for both have looked down and out at one point before reminding us of the dangers involved in ruling them out – albeit with contrasting methods it has to be said!

Diego Costa – The Hound

While Diego may not be as much of a physical specimen as Sandor Clegane, it is pretty obvious that, like The Hound, Costa has never and will never back down from a scrap. Oh, and both just so happen to be brilliant at what they do. Legend has it that during on-the-field drinks breaks Costa says “f*ck the water, bring me wine”.
