Chelsea move ahead of Liverpool in the race to sign highly-rated Dynamo Kiev star Andriy Yarmolenko after the winger stated a preference to join the Blues, according to reports.
The 25-year-old – rated at around £19 million – has courted interest from a host of Europe’s elite clubs following a series of impressive performances for the Ukrainian giants this season.
Reds manager Brendan Rodgers is thought to be a big fan, but the affection is not mutual it seems as Yarmolenko narrows his destination down to two clubs – Chelsea and Valencia – according to Tuttomercatoweb.
The Ukraine international, whose contract expires in 2016, has scored 15 times from 29 appearances this season, but few will have been more special than the one he scored against Everton in the Europa League last month.
