Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella believes that on-loan Chelsea sensation Mohamad Salah is as gifted as Lionel Messi in some aspects of his game.

The 22-year-old winger has proven an instant hit in Italy after scoring six times in his first 10 games following a January departure from Stamford Bridge.

Salah offered further substance to the theory that Jose Mourinho may regret letting him go after the jet-heeled Egyptian produced a couple of stunning solo runs in Thursday’s Europa League win over Roma.

He joined La Viola on loan until the end of the season – with the option to extend it by a further 12 months – in the deal that saw Juan Cuadrado join Chelsea for £26 million.

And Montella says that he got the better of both deals, likening the in-form Salah to Barcelona superstar Messi.

“For now, we have benefited. We knew the superb characteristics of the player, but we did not expect him to have such an impact on Italian football,” he told Italian TV station Mediaset Premium.

“Perhaps only Messi is faster than him with the ball at one’s feet.”

Does Salah have a future in West London? Let us know below.

Everybody knows how good salah is but, the chance he did not get under mourinho is the main issue chelsea management has to look into.

I wish could see Mourinho one-on-one and talk to him. Players like Salah, Atsu, Machcrean and even Lucas Piazon are not to be chipped out on loan because they are of great quality and can be a solid back up or replacement to the likes of Hazard, Fabregas, and even Oscar when they are tired or week.
