Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly identified Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane as his number one transfer target this summer.
The Blues bowed out of the Champions League at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday as 10-man Paris Saint-Germain snatched a 2-2 draw and qualified for the quarter-finals on the away goals rule.
Much has been made over the fact that both of the visitors’ goals came from set pieces, with David Luiz and Thiago Silva both heading past Thibaut Courtois from corners.
Consequently, Mourinho has earmarked the 21-year-old Frenchman – whom he worked with at the Bernabeu – to bolster his rearguard next season and quell the Blues’ deficiencies at the back, according to The Mirror.
