Loic Remy has stressed that nobody at Chelsea is thinking about winning the Premier League title – but acknowledges that their destiny is in their own hands.
The table-topping Blues travel to Hull City tomorrow aiming to restore their six-point lead over second-placed Manchester City, who beat Burnley 3-0 this afternoon.
Understandably, Chelsea, who will still have a game in hand over City after full-time tomorrow, are overwhelming favourites to clinch a first league title since 2010.
But Remy says that he and his team-mates are simply taking it on a game-by-game basis. He told Chelsea TV: “We are not speaking about the title race, but in our head we know we have the situation in our hands.
“We don’t want to waste time by losing a game.
“We have 10 more games, one more than City, and if you look forward the games are coming.
“We just want to take game after game and get a result – we have to try to win every game until the end of the season.”
