Dynamo Kiev midfielder Miguel Veloso has admitted that he is surprised to see how fast the “classy” Mohamad Salah has adapted to life in Italy with Fiorentina.

The Chelsea loanee has proven an instant hit with the Serie A side after scoring six times in his first 11 games following a January departure from Stamford Bridge.

Salah, 22, offered further substance to the theory that Jose Mourinho may regret letting him go after the jet-heeled Egyptian produced a couple of stunning solo runs in Thursday’s Europa League win over Roma.

Veloso comes up against him in the quarter-final stage of the competition next, and the Portuguese, who spent two years with Genoa, hails him for his smooth transition to Italian football.

“Mohamed Salah is showing classy performances in his games,” the 28-year-old, who has 52 caps for his country, told Tuttomercatoweb.

“I am really surprised he has accustomed himself to the Italian football in a very short time.”
