Jose Mourinho has backed his Chelsea side to make the most of their “significant” advantage in the title race and win the Premier League this season.
Mourinho’s side boast a six-point lead over second-placed Manchester City as the Blues – who also have a game in hand – appear to be closing in on a fourth Premier League crown.
With 10 games remaining, the Portuguese is well aware that reigning champions City have a mammoth task of bridging the gap, but warns that anything could happen over the next two months.
“We are in front the advantage is not half a body, the advantage is significant,” the 52-year-old is quoted as saying by the Daily Star.
“But there’s still a long way to go. We are there, we are strong, we are confident and we believe in our capacity to stay there [at the top of the league] until our last match.”
Chelsea, who drew 1-1 with Southampton last weekend, travel to relegation-threatened Hull City on Sunday afternoon.
