Rio Ferdinand has backed Chelsea’s trident of Cesc Fabregas, Eden Hazard and Diego Costa to fire the Blues past Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League as a quarter-final place beckons.

Jose Mourinho’s side take a slight advantage into tonight’s second leg at Stamford Bridge after earning a potentially decisive away goal from the 1-1 draw in the first leg three weeks ago.

Considering a goalless draw would be enough to see them advance into the last eight, the spotlight could well be on the hosts’ defence as they look to combat the likes of Edinson Cavani – who scored in Paris – and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

However, Ferdinand is expecting to see Chelsea’s star-studded attack steal the show and believes that Fabregas, Hazard and Costa will help their side into the quarters.

“I think Chelsea will go through. They can win ugly and they know how to win,” the Manchester United legend, now with QPR, told Uefa.com.

“They’ve got a very strong squad and when you have someone like Hazard in the form he’s in, with Fàbregas supporting him and Costa who can finish chances off, they’re always going to be in with a chance.”

The Shed Ender will have a match report following full time.
