Out-of-favour Real Madrid forward and reported Chelsea target Jese Rodriguez will wait until the summer to make a decision on his future, according to his former coach at youth level.

The Spaniard emerged as one to watch during Jose Mourinho’s spell at the Bernabeu and the Blues boss is thought to have kept tabs on him since returning to Stamford Bridge.

Jese is yet to start a game this season, with the Blancos’ star-studded trident of Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo – abbreviated to ‘BBC’ – regularly deployed in a three-pronged attack.

And Alberto Toril, who coached the 22-year-old during his time with Real Madrid B, warns that his former protege could quit the club this summer.

“He’d like to stay at Madrid, but he also has the ambition to play regularly. He’ll decide [his future] in June,” Toril said.

“He knows that the BBC play practically forever, but at the end of the day a season is 70 games long and there’s time for everyone to play.

“[Carlo] Ancelotti will have his arguments [against squad rotation], but in doing so a player can relax [too much].”

Jese, whose contract expires in 2017, has netted nine senior goals for the European champions.
