Chelsea have agreed a deal in principle to sign Shakhtar Donetsk ace Douglas Costa this summer, according to reports.

The Brazilian was heavily linked with a switch in January but negotiations broke down after both parties failed to agree on a transfer fee.

Earlier this week, the attacking midfielder reiterated his desire to join the Blues to fulfill a “dream” of playing under manager Jose Mourinho.

And it appears as if a move may be close to materialising as Chelsea and Shakhtar agree a fee thought to be in the region of £18 million, according to The Express.

The 24-year-old, who has won two caps for Brazil, is contracted to the Ukrainian giants until 2018.

Could Gareth Bale also be on his way to the Bridge? Find out more on that prospective £71 million bid here.
