Diego Costa will serve a three-match ban, starting with the title clash versus Man City on Saturday.
The FA have rejected Chelsea’s appeal against the ban, but Costa has not been given an extra game onto his ban due to frivolous appeal – which is often the case.
Diego Costa has been charged for violent conduct, specifically for a stamp on Liverpool’s Emre Can. In the same game, the Spaniard allegedly deliberately stamped on Martin Skrtel also.
The Premier League’s top goalscorer will miss the away trip to Aston Villa and the hosting of Everton, along with Saturday’s huge clash.
