Mourinho confirms the first January arrival at Chelsea

Mourinho has far from splashed the cash on a new signing, but he has recalled a player who was initially out on loan.

Goalkeeper Jamal Blackman has returned from his loan spell with Middlesbrough. With Petr Cech & Thibaut Courtois battling it out for the first-team spot, veteran goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer has moved on loan to Leicester and Mourinho has decided he will feel far more comfortable with three goalkeepers at his disposal.

Don’t expect young Jamal to make first-team appearances anytime soon, but perhaps it paves the way for Cech’s departure? Unlikely.
