Eto'o injury

Samuel Eto’o scored his eleventh goal of the season during the 6-0 rout against Arsenal on Saturday and has arguably earned himself a contract extension following his performances this season but wants to quit Chelsea at the end of the season, according to the The Sun on Sunday.

Apparently the 33-year-old Cameroon international is so angry over comments Jose Mourinho made about his age on French TV that he’s willing to walk out of Stamford Bridge and join former club Real Mallorca.

Mourinho was unhappy that his “The problem is I like a scorer. I have Eto’o but he is 32, maybe 35, who knows?” was publicised and after an initial furore it seemed as though nobody was actually fazed and it was only referred to for the purposes of ‘hilarious’ commentator jokes every time Eto’o scored or moved quicker than your average pensioner.

So, somehow I really doubt the legitimacy of Charlie Wyett’s piece and believe the Sun on Sunday might be telling a few porkies (shock, horror!) in order to upset the Chelsea apple cart. The below picture does not suggest to me that Eto’o was overly upset about what’s been said and isn’t the action of the cry baby type that’d walk out over something so trivial.

Eto'o

Saying that, judging by his last Tweet he seems like a player that really wants to leave…

Eto’o and Chelsea may part ways at the end of the season – especially as there is no guarantee the forward will get an extension – but I’d highly doubt it’d have anything to do with this whole ‘age row’ guff.

One response to “Striker wants to quit Stamford Bridge…yeah right!”
