Eden Hazard was the star of the show as Chelsea ran out 4-3 winners at the Stadium of Light against Sunderland and keep themselves on the heels of league leaders Arsenal.

Here’s how I rated Jose Mourinho’s players in their victory at Sunderland but it’s just my opinion, so feel free to let us know your thoughts in the comments section below:

Petr Cech – 6

Will be furious to have conceded three goals but wasn’t at fault for Chelsea’s poor defending at set-pieces.

Branislav Ivanovic – 6

Had a few iffy moments defensively but provided a decent out-ball on the right.

Gary Cahill – 5.5

Had a bad night and was too easily lost by his opponents at crucial times.

John Terry – 5.5

The skipper has not had many bad games this season but this was definitely one of them.

Cesar Azpilicueta – 6.5

Azpilicueta was the best of Chelsea’s defenders and some clever running helped open space for Hazard in attack.

Ramires – 7

Lacks composure with the ball at times but his tireless work rate and energy make him a valuable asset. Was involved in some good moments.

Frank Lampard – 7.5

Took his goal well and assisted Hazard with a delightful flick. Played well.

Willian – 7

There was a few grumblings about his performance as he wasn’t as involved in attacks as some of his team-mate but did a lot of the work Oscar is normally praised for. Worked hard, dropped deep when needed and did a job for the team.

Juan Mata – 8

His link-up play with Hazard and his team-mates is always a joy to watch and provides quality in his delivery.

Eden Hazard – 9.5

A virtuoso display from the Belgian as he tore Sunderland to shreds. Took his brace well and assisted Lampard for an all important equaliser in the first half.

Fernando Torres – 4

Worked hard but without end product. Missed a sitter or two and kept giving the ball away with his errant passing.

Demba Ba – 6.5

Did well when introduced in place of Torres after the hour mark. Helped force Chelsea’s third goal.

John Obi Mikel – N/A

Andre Schurrle – N/A
