Romelu-Lukaku-Goal-Celebration

Romelu Lukaku could seek a permanent move away from Stamford Bridge to Everton because he is enjoying his loan spell there too much according to ‘sources’ at his adoptive club.

The decision to loan Lukaku out again following a successful spell at West Bromwich Albion last season has been questioned by many fans and pundits, and an Everton insider allegedly told SportsDirect News that Lukaku may decide to call-time on his career at Chelsea in favour of regular football but Everton may not be a club that can afford him.

“It is unclear what long-term plans Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has for Lukaku, but the fact he was not in his plans at the start of this season says a lot.

“He has been enjoying his time at Goodison Park as he knows he is wanted here. However, whether we can afford him is a different matter.”

Like any football transfer rumour it has to be taken with a pinch of salt and no journalist will ever reveal their sources which makes it so difficult to tell which are genuine and which are not, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Lukaku asked to leave next summer.

A club can only loan out a player so many times before it makes a decision on which ones deserve the chance and are retained and which players will be sold. At the moment Lukaku is just one of the promising talents the Blues stand to lose as Thibaut Courtois may never play a match for Chelsea and Kevin De Bruyne was completely castigated for a poor team performance in the Capital One Cup against Swindon and looks likely to demand a loan move in January, if not a permanent one.

Lukaku in particular has had a few digs at his parent club and although it’s most certainly disrespectful in many ways it is understandable that he is frustrated when he, a player that is scoring regularly, doesn’t get a chance in favour of a man that has not ever been a regular scorer for Chelsea since arriving in the January of 2011.

I don’t think Lukaku will be moving to Everton on a permanent basis but there are many clubs that would have him and not giving him a chance is something Chelsea could come to regret in the long run.

Lukaku has scored five goals in seven Premier League matches for Everton so far this season. Samuel Eto’o has two in the same amount of matches whilst Fernando Torres has amassed an incredible one league goal in eight games.
