Chelsea were impressive in what was a professional display against Steaua Bucharest in the Champions League on Tuesday night, running out 4-0 winners.

Of course, the Blues were expected to beat the Romanian side but after already losing at home to FC Basel and experiencing first round elimination last season the fans know not to take points in the competition for granted.

Andre Schurrle put in his best performance to date for Chelsea and Jose Mourinho was visibly pleased as he hugged his winger, letting him know just how happy he was with his display.

The German absolutely destroyed Daniel Georgievski. The Steaua right-back was so bad for the home side that he was one of our best performers last night and even capped it with an OG, so thank you for that, Daniel. It was the worst performance I’ve seen from a right-back in a long time and it was highly amusing to see Schurrle leave him for dead time and time again. Schurrle was a contender for man of the match but still needs to work on his end product, especially finishing, but he did well.

Ramires was my man of the match and he’s arguably been one of the more consistent performers for Chelsea so far this season. The Brazilian was everywhere and fully deserved his brace, whilst could be considered unlucky to have not gotten a hat-trick.

On the same day that Fernando Torres learned that the FA wouldn’t be taking further action against him for events during the weekend’s result against Tottenham he ended up limping off injured at the National Arena and it looks as though he’ll be out for a few weeks, which is a shame as he has been playing well, but that was probably the only negative for Chelsea on the night.

Next up in the Champions League is a decisive double-header against Schalke.
