Khedira

Chelsea are once again being linked with Sami Khedira as the Real Madrid midfielder has hit out at the Spanish press and appears to be falling out of love with life in La Liga.

The German international spoke to Kicker magazine that he’ll never be able to win over his critics in Spain because he is a disciple of Jose Mourinho and wasn’t a so-called marquee signing.

Khedira said:

“I feel insulted by the Spanish press, I will never be one of their favourite sons.

“I began the season on the bench and once again I’ve been made a scapegoat. They don’t value me, even when I play well.

“I’m not Spanish, I didn’t cost a lot and I’m a disciple of Mourinho.”

If he’s that angry and remains so then I would say that it is a safe bet that the 26-year-old’s days at the Santiago Bernabeu are numbered but the Chelsea angle created by most of the British press just because Mourinho is now their manager seems to be a lazy one in my opinion.

So far Mourinho hasn’t really looked as though he’d raid his old team for a few players and Real Madrid may even be reluctant to negotiate with their former manager anyhow.

Unless someone is leaving the club any time soon then there is no room for Khedira in Chelsea’s midfield at the moment but depending on the futures of Michael Essien and Frank Lampard the club may end up getting the chequebook out to sign a new central midfielder, but you’d have to say there would be other names you would target before even looking at the possibility of signing Khedira, who is a good enough player and is a good age but not exactly top of the range.
