Victor Moses will complete a season-long loan move to Liverpool before the close of the transfer window after falling down the pecking order at Chelsea.

The 22-year-old would have found it extremely difficult to break into Jose Mourinho’s plans with Juan Mata, Eden Hazard, Oscar, Willian, Kevin De Bruyne and Andre Schurrle at the club, so will leave Stamford Bridge in order to find first-team football and Anfield is his choice according to the BBC‘s Phil McNulty.

Liverpool will pay the Blues a £1 million fee for the winger’s services this season and he’ll be joining up with former Chelsea forward Daniel Sturridge on Merseyside. It’s important for Moses to play as much as possible this season for his development as well as keeping his name in the frame for his country as they compete for a place in the World Cup.

West Bromwich Albion, Everton and Southampton had also shown an interest in Moses and they may represent a better guarantee of first team football but he opted for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Moses had a good year last season as he moved from Wigan to one of the Premier League’s top clubs, where he played 43 games and scored 10 goals. He won a Europa League with us during that campaign as well as picking up the African Cup of National with the Super Eagles Nigeria.

The winger had looked good in pre-season so it’s a bit of a shame for him that he won’t be given a chance but it’s just not an option for him right now.
