Torres Capital One Cup v Swindon

Chelsea eased their way into the Capital One Cup fourth round following a 2-0 victory over Swindon Town at the County Ground on Tuesday night.

The Robin played a decent game but Jose Mourinho’s side had too much for them in what was both a professional and no-frills display. It looks as though Juan Mata is doing his best to take on his manager’s instructions as he attempted to chase down anything in his vicinity and put pressure on the ball.

Fernando Torres enjoyed a good match as he scored and provided the assist for Ramires’ goal, both came during the first half, and from then on Chelsea just saw the result out but were guilty of missing gilt-edged chances. Mourinho seemed to appreciate the Spaniard’s effort.

Marco van Ginkel’s injury could keep him out for some time and this will impact his hopes of making his mark for club and country, whilst Ramires, who replaced him, also had to be taken off after sustaining an injury and is doubt ahead of the Spurs game.

The fourth round draw will follow immediately after tonight’s matches. In the meantime, check out the highlights below…
