o-LUIS-SUAREZ-facebookSilly season never really goes away but the latest offering as far as wacky transfer rumours go is the story that links Liverpool’s Luis Suarez with a switch to Stamford Bridge.

Spanish publication AS reported it and believe that Suarez is ‘close’ to a €40m (£34m approx) switch which will see him at Stamford Bridge…somebody is up to mischief.

Real Madrid have been heavily linked with the Uruguayan forward and AS are reporting it as if Jose Mourinho wants to get one-up on his former employers by snatching one of their major targets, whilst he’s a much cheaper alternative than Edinson Cavani and arguably a better player anyway.

However, it’s highly unlikely that he will arrive in West London to play in Chelsea blue. He recently said that he wants to leave his current club to escape the English media (he really means he wants to escape Liverpool so he can play Champions League football and win things) but he’s hardly going to show himself up as a liar by moving to another Premier League side.

Suarez scored 30 goals and made 11 assists over 44 games for Liverpool last season but his talent has never really been in questions, it’s his repugnant character. He was guilty of a shocking bite on Branislav Ivanovic during our game at Anfield last season so we know first hand what a problem he can be…but perhaps it was the taste of a European champion that helped make his mind up about wanting to leave Liverpool.

All joking aside this is most likely a nonsense rumour and Suarez will end up at Real Madrid as they need to make a big signing or two this summer as they look to wrestle dominance from Barcelona and to win a few fans over following last season’s fiasco.
