Jose Mourinho has promised to do his best to bring success to Chelsea after signing a four-year deal to become the West London club’s manager for a second time and gave the supporters the following message: ‘I’m one of you’.

The 50-year-old has no doubt come back to a different Chelsea, a club that has maintained its success during the six years he has been away from the club but he has also returning as a more mature manager that’s hopefully willing to settle in a place where he’s truly appreciated.

Mourinho gave his first interview to Chelsea TV which will be aired at 6:30pm this evening and expressed his delight to be back at Stamford Bridge.

He said:

“In my career I’ve had two great passions – Inter and Chelsea – and Chelsea is more than important for me.

“It was very, very hard to play against Chelsea, and I did it only twice which was not so bad.

“Now I promise exactly the same things I promised in 2004 with this difference to add: I’m one of you.”

The club have also announced that he will be formally unveiled as the manager in front of the media at a press conference which is scheduled for 1.30pm on Monday afternoon and it will be interesting to see what he has to say following his dramatic return. Who knows, we may even have some transfer news between now and then… but I digress.

As well as giving Chelsea a boost the return of the Special One will worry our rivals as it will likely take David Moyes a while to find his feet at Manchester United following Sir Alex Ferguson’s 26-year reign at Old Trafford and incoming Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has not managed in the Premier League before, so it’s hard to guess how long it will take him to adjust to life at the Etihad.

Chelsea are 9/4 to win next season’s Premier League title whilst both Manchester clubs are priced at 2/1 with SkyBet.
