Romeu-Torres-Azpilicueta-MataDespite having just the two transfer windows a year we are inundated with rumours all year round, some of which turn out to be genuine, others seem plausible but don’t come off and then there’s the downright ridiculous ones that wind everyone up.

It’s early days yet but Marca may already have won the award for the dumbest transfer story of the summer with the following gem – ‘Mou ready to offload Mata and Torres’ – which you can read on the English version of their website here.

Okay, so it may on be half stupid as it’s very likely that Jose Mourinho will be impressed by Fernando Torres’ piss-poor goal return since signing for the club in January 2011 but the fact they’ve linked Juan Mata, Chelsea player of the season and currently the best man in the squad, with the boot is laughable.

Although it’s published on their website the story originated on Radio Marca, who claimed that Mourinho has told Roman Abramovich to put the Spanish duo up for sale and listen to offers so that he can raise funds for a shopping spree.

But it doesn’t end there, the same report goes on to say that we’re interest in signing the likes of Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko and Fiorentina’s Stevan Jovetic which would leave “too many cooks in the Blues’ forward line”. Replace Torres and Mata with Dzeko and Jovetic?

I’m sensing bitterness from the Real Madrid friendly newspaper following Mourinho’s departure from the Santiago Bernabeu. The Portuguese coach fell out with a section of the fans, a few key players, most notably Iker Casillas, and didn’t win over many friends amongst the Spanish press.

That’s the daftest rumour I’ve heard so far, but if you have a better one then please share in the comments section below…

FT9 has been solid apart from no/low goals. He back tracks and harasses defenders in possession to regain balls, opens space for MAZACAR to slip into by pulling defenders. All in all torres’ game in a cfc shirt is fine by me. We score enough from midfielders and defenders that we can allow a less than expected return from a CF. No departures maybe an incoming or two but the loan recalls should cover us enough that we can get away until Jan with the squad/talent we already possess.

How can u say we wud be fine without a striker . . Its nt the midfields job to score goals ! That’s why we never challenged in the league that’s what we were lacking we need a new strike!!

Are you aware of squad rules? Has to be departures if players are coming in. Can only name so many in your squad for PL & CL.

If you’re fine with Torres then you accept mediocrity. Chelsea are a big club and should have a forward that’s fitting to their stature.

pls my chelsea brothers do not belief all this trash from the media house our man MOU has spoken that he need to improve the players he did not mentioned that he will sell players.
