Mourinho-KarankaReal Madrid assistant manager Aitor Karanka has confirmed that Jose Mourinho has an agreement with Chelsea and will manage the West London club next season…like we didn’t know already.

However, Karanka had revealed that he would be willing to follow the Portuguese manager to Stamford Bridge but isn’t certain where his future lies at the moment and he’s the most reliable source to make the confirmation thus far.

He said:

“Mourinho has joined Chelsea.

“He offered me the chance to go with him but Real Madrid hasn’t told me I’ll be released.

“I’ve still got three years left on my contract and I’d have to pay them to leave.

“If I do go though, I’ll join Mourinho at Chelsea – or maybe even become a manager at a top French club.”

It’s yet another story following The Sun‘s claim that Mourinho agreed a deal with Chelsea on Tuesday, the day after his attendance at Wembley Stadium to watch the Championship play-off final between Crystal Palace and Watford.

It has been suggested that Mourinho is keen to settle down in London and work on a long-term project with the Blues. The fans are desperate for this to be true and will hope that the 50-year-old can defy the critics who argue that he is incapable of doing any more than a short cycle and it will all end in tears. I believe that the experience he had in Madrid was a humbling one for Mourinho and he looked vulnerable for the first time during his career when he said that he needs to be somewhere he is love, and he sees London as a natural home for him.

The club are already preparing for his arrival as it now seems that the Andre Schurrle signing is imminent whilst we’re also reportedly chasing Edinson Cavani and Daniele De Rossi at Mourinho’s request.
