Arda+Turan+Real+Madrid+CF+v+Club+Atletico+_ka1PdRoQ0TxTurkish winger Arda Turan has been linked with both Arsenal and Liverpool in the past but the Express believe that Chelsea are willing to meet the Atletico Madrid star’s release fee to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

The reports originated from Turkey, where it has been reported that the Blues will pay the La Liga club £20 million in order to prise Turan away from the Vicente Calderon.

Assuming Chelsea’s interest was true the 26-year-old could be an alternative to Bayer Leverkusen’s Andre Schurrle, who has been touted as a sure thing but confirmation is yet to materialise and there could be a complication as Kevin De Bruyne may not want to be part of the deal as originally suggested and prefers a move to Dortmund.

It is also possible that if De Bruyne does want to leave for the Bundesliga runners-up then the West London club could use him in exchange for Robert Lewandowski as Dortmund want a replacement for Mario Gotze and would prefer not to sell another one of their star players to league rivals Bayern Munich. Lewandowski recently said it was an honour to have someone like Jose Mourinho interested in his services and the Portuguese manager is widely tipped to be the next manager at Stamford Bridge.

The former Galatasaray man has scored four goals and provided eight assists this season, helping his side into third place in the La Liga table where they are likely to finish as they’re eight points behind their rivals in the Spanish capital and 14 ahead of Real Sociedad.

Turan is definitely a good player and I think the right time to buy him was a few years ago before he made the move to Atletico Madrid from Turkey, even though he undoubtedly has plenty to give. It is just the price-tag that puts me off, I do believe him to be a much better player than Schurrle, but do you think he would be a worthwhile signing?
