Chelsea v Inter Milan - UEFA Champions LeagueIt seems there has been a development in relation to the upcoming managerial merry-go-round as former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti looks destined for Real Madrid which leaves Jose Mourinho free to return to Stamford Bridge.

BeIn Sport TV, who hold rights to Ligue 1 and are backed by the same Qatari group that are at PSG, broke the news that the Italian will not be the manager at the Parisian club after the summer.

“Carlo Ancelotti will not be the PSG coach next season. He met (club president Nasser al-Khelaifi) and (sporting director) Leonardo this afternoon in Paris for more than an hour.”

There had previously been denial from the likes of Leonardo who said that nothing had been decided and stories confirming that Real Madrid weren’t willing to pay a release fee, but if the manager does want to leave then there isn’t much the club could do about it at this stage in the same way that Real won’t be able to hold Chelsea to ransom over Mourinho.

It was well publicised that there was going to be a meeting today and Jose will have had similar words with Florentino Perez. I imagine the decisions had been made beforehand and it’s now a matter of tying up loose ends in terms of public and official confirmations, but I don’t imagine it will be too much longer before both of these men are holding up the shirts of their new clubs for photographers.

Plenty of big managerial changes around Europe this season as Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich will be starting next season with new men in charge and it seems as though Paris Saint-Germain is to become the next big post to become available…Rafa to Paris?
