Chelsea Player Ratings v Fulham:
Petr Cech – 7
Made a couple of important saves and showed safe hands when necessary.
Branislav Ivanovic – 7
Looked comfortable with the defending he had to do.
David Luiz – 8.5
Scored an absolute belter to open the scoring, just when the game needed something special. Was defensively solid and made a number of superb long-range passes.
John Terry – 7.5
Took him a little while to get into the game and he was arguably better in the opponent’s box with his two goals than he was in his own. Signs that he is getting his match fitness back.
Ryan Bertrand – 7
I’m happy to see Bertrand perform well since Ashley Cole got injured. Has benefited from regular the regular football he’s been playing and rarely looked troubled.
Despite always seeming to give the ball away when an easy pass is on, he had a 94% completion in this match, he always puts in a good shift and his defensive work was impressive with seven successful tackles.
Frank Lampard – 7
Starting to look a little anxious about the goal record but had two decent efforts on goal in the first half from a volley and free kick. Moves the ball around well and done his bit defensively making a few tackles.
Eden Hazard – 6
Really don’t like seeing this lad play on the right-hand side, he has to play in the middle or on the left. Struggled to get into the game bar a few moments.
Juan Mata – 7
Fairly quiet game for the Spaniard but he did supply Terry’s first goal with a wonderful cross.
Victor Moses – 4
Offered very little. Made a pig’s ear of every cross he attempted and kicked the air instead of the ball twice during corner clearances.
Fernando Torres – 6
We didn’t really see him having a run at the Fulham defenders enough and he had a quiet night for the most part. Assisted Chelsea’s third when Terry made sure his goal-bound header went in.
Oscar – 6.5
Had a few good moments after coming on.
Neither Demba Ba or John Obi Mikel played enough to the game to rate their performance.
