Chelsea duo Eden Hazard and Juan Mata were named amongst the PFA team of the year last night as recognition for their performances this season.

Here is the full XI…

football formations

It’s great to see that the likes of Mata and Hazard on there and they have both been excellent this season and responsible for a sizeable chunk of Chelsea’s goals, whether it’s scoring or assisting.

However, it wouldn’t be the XI that I would have picked as young Matija Nastasic of Manchester City should be in there ahead of Rio Ferdinand, in my opinion. I also think it’s a little harsh to completely omit Michu considering the season he has enjoyed with Swansea, whilst Arsenal fans will argue that Santi Cazorla should be in there and they’d have a case as he has scored a dozen goals this season and made 11 assists for his team mates.

But not everybody will agree on the above selection and these are just the opinions of the players. These awards are meaningless, essentially, so there’s no point getting your knickers in a twist if your favourite player wasn’t recognised but the fun is in the debate.

One response to “Chelsea duo named in team of the year, but who’d be in your XI?”

  1. OOAH says:

I would just replace De Gea with Cech and Carrick with Yaya Toure.
