Chelsea’s Kevin De Bruyne is currently stalling over a move to Bayer Leverkusen as part of the deal for German international Andre Schurrle as the Belgian is on the short-list to replace Mario Götze at Dortmund.

It was recently revealed that Dortmund are losing their star man to rivals Bayern Munich after they triggered his release clause and they are keen on replacing him with De Bruyne, according to reports, and they’ve been admiring his displays on-loan at Werder Bremen throughout the Bundesliga season.

The Mirror believe that Chelsea are just waiting for the player to make their mind up as they’ll probably just have to increase the payment for Schurrle if De Bruyne isn’t involved in the transfer and will accept Dortmund’s cash if they stump up the £15 million asking price.

I don’t think the club are doing the right thing in the case of De Bruyne as we really ought to be bringing him into the Chelsea setup next season or the season after. The ideal situation would be that he only goes out on loan to somewhere like Leverkusen for one more year to continue his development but he may not necessarily believe that it is the best option for him, especially if Chelsea aren’t convincing De Bruyne that they believe he has a future at Stamford Bridge.

It feels as though Chelsea have tried to cut a few corners as they chase Schurrle and it could end up costing them a promising young talent in De Bruyne. It wouldn’t be the first time and I genuinely hope that we aren’t making the same mistake as the time we sent Nemanja Matic packing to Portugal where he’s become a star for Benfica.

What do you think the future has in store for Kevin De Bruyne?

Bring him back or send him to premier league club on loan we should do every thing in our power to keep him he is a top player would rather him than schurrle and it saves us 20mill

I’d send him out on loan again but don’t want a lesser Premier League club to ruin him, so back to Bundesliga would be best in my opinion.

let’s just assume that he has a future at the club. What kind of future are we talking about?
Kevin seems more of a 1st player to me rather than a spare one. I don’t think he will accept the idea of having a future at Chelsea as a replacement for Oscar or Hazard. Unless, if we get rid of Moses.

So I’d sell him now as his price is decent according to his age, or we could just keep him and sell Moses. I can’t see any other way.

Can’t see Moses ever being a regular feature and if I was De Bruyne, I’d be fairly confident that I could usurp Oscar. Both still young, so will have to see where they go.

If De Bruyne causes the Schurrle deal to fall through then I see that as a bullet dodged. Average.
