Europa LeagueInterim Chelsea manager Rafa Benitez says he will play a ‘competitive’ team against Steaua Bucharest tonight but I don’t take this to mean he will play our strongest XI as he simply has to have an eye on a huge FA Cup quarter final against Manchester United on Sunday.

Demba Ba is of course ineligible for the trip which means Fernando Torres will likely start and the Senegalese forward will likely start at Old Trafford at the weekend if the Spaniard has one of his customary displays in which he cannot hit a cow’s arse with a banjo. Nigerian forward Victor Moses hasn’t travelled either. Whilst Oriol Romeu remains the only major injury worry.

The team I’d pick for tonight’s match:

P. Cech

C. Azpilicueta – D. Luiz – J. Terry (c) – R. Bertrand

J. Mikel – N. Ake

Oscar – J. Mata – M. Marin

F. Torres
