Chelsea forward Daniel Sturridge hasn’t played much football for the club since Andre Villas-Boas was fired in March and replaced by Roberto Di Matteo, who didn’t seem to rate the youngster, and his been absent most of this season with an injury…or at least that’s the official reason given for his frequent omissions from the squad.

Anyone can see that Sturridge is a talented player and has potential but many question his attitude, particularly when it comes to his apparent demands to play in a central role but he’s never going to be a regular in the role at a top club, so he’s succumbed to his own hubris and looks as though he will be making the move north to Anfield.

The Liverpool Echo have reported that the 23-year-old is to undergo a medical on Sunday as he prepares to make a £12 million move to Liverpool in the January transfer window. The deal almost hit the skids as the Reds weren’t prepared to be held to ransom by the player’s personal demands and Brendan Rodgers almost opted for PSG’s Kevin Gameiro as an alternative (I have a feeling he’ll regret not going for the Gameiro option).

It’s unlikely that there will be any official confirmation by either club or the player until the window officially opens on January 1st but it seems as though both parties are keen to get the deal done quickly, could this mean Chelsea have something up their sleeves in relation to incoming players? You’d hope so, although I won’t be entirely shocked if we left our buys until the last minute. There is always the option of recalling Romelu Lukaku, who is currently on loan at West Brom and arguably it’s the best place for him at the moment.

Sturridge to Liverpool looks like a done deal, what are your thoughts on this transfer?

Theres a demonstration outside Melwood to BOYCOTT the transfer signing of sturridge Tomorrow ? I urge all Liverpool fans to attend to vent there anger at the signing of this joke second rate so called striker ??? 18 premier league goals since 2009 is enough to BOYCOTT this buy ? Rodgers is OUT OF HIS DEPTH fact ? Where buying second rate players,to make teams above us stronger ??? It needs too stop now,And these IDIOT yanks need too stop penny pinching…

Because your club wasted 75 million on Henderson,Downing and the biggest flop of all,Carrol. Ontop of that you only won the League Cup last season which doesn’t bring in much money. Sturridge is a second choice striker at our club and should be used often at yours rotating with Suarez and Sterling.

Sturridge has not been given a fair chance. People complaining aBout his selfishness need to remember JFH and Drogba were selfish very often also, as are all strikers.

Add to this, he is young and over eager to prove himself. Sturridge through the middle has not really been given a shot . With Danny UP print you always feel there is a threat and other teams are probably quite fearful of his pace and sharpness.

Sad to see him.go, but would like to see him do well however much I dislike the scousers. Him outshining Suarez would be good…

on tomorrow game vs the Canaries, would like to see the following lineup:

    Cech

    Ivanovic Cahill
    Azpilicueta Cole

    Luiz Mikel

    Moses Oscar Marin

    Torres

    Rest Matzard.

Wilfried Bony (£8-10m)- Physical Striker, Scores with both feet, good in the air. Alternative to Torres, and not nearly half as expensive as Falcao…
