Everton star Marouane Fellaini has said that although he’d prefer to stay with the Toffees at Goodison Park, he wants to win trophies and play in the Champions League, which may not be possible at his current club and he may be tempted to switch as the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City are interested.

Fellaini told the BBC’s Football Focus:

“When I came here, I played an FA Cup final against Chelsea, I lost. Last year I played [a] semi-final [and] lost, and so I hope to win something this year.

“But also I want to play [in the] Champions League, if it’s possible with Everton. But if not, with another team. But I want to play [in the] Champions League.”

In recent seasons they’ve mostly suffered slow starts and seem to take a few months to get going, but this year David Moyes’ side have shown great form in their first 11 matches and are currently sitting in fourth spot in the Premier League, and they’d hope they’ll fight for that spot alongside the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham throughout the season. But this will not stop clubs going in for Fellaini in January, would you take him at Chelsea if he’s interested?

I think it depends on what the manager has planned for him as he’s flourished since Moyes opted to play him further up the park for Everton, so it wouldn’t make sense to put him back in midfield alongside John Obi Mikel or Ramires in our current formation, even though it won’t hurt to have the option. But he’ll come at a cost and if you’re going to break the bank for a player then you have to play him in his best position.

The Belgian has been instrumental to Everton’s success so far this season, particularly in the win against Manchester United, and has scored six goals.
