Oscar proud of Chelsea progress

Ahead of Brazil’s international friendlies against Iraq and Japan, Oscar told Globo Esporte how pleased he is with his progress as a Premier League playing and how much he’s enjoying life at Stamford Bridge.

The Chelsea playmaker has settled well in west London but even he is surprised how quickly he’s risen in the team but is mature enough to realise that he’s still settling in and has plenty of hard work ahead of him.

“I did not expect it to be so fast. Of course I’m still in a period of adaptation. But Chelsea is a great club with great players. My teammates are helping me a lot in the process.”

I’m sure the likes of Ramires, David Luiz and Lucas Piazon have played no small part in helping the 21-year-old find his feet in London as it must be easier when there’s friendly faces around already.

Oscar also spoke well of Chelsea as a club and believes that the staff at Stamford Bridge are doing all the right things to help him mature as a player and develop his game:

“I’ve grown up a lot in recent games because they are teaching me. The team also helped me take the first step in English football. Hopefully everything continues well. Chelsea has added good things for me.”

Oscar burst onto the scene as a Chelsea player with a fantastic double against Juventus on his Champion League debut in a 2-2 draw. His second goal was something to behold, probably one of the best goals we’ve every scored in UEFA’s main club cup competition, and even Gianluigi Buffon could only praise the Brazilian despite being beaten by him.

Buffon:

“Oscar turned on a sixpence and put the ball under the bar. I won’t say it’s nice to concede a goal, but it’s still nice to be a part of a great goal like that. Compliments to him.”

Oscar is one third of an exciting attacking trio which includes Juan Mata and Eden Hazard. The Brazilian youngster has scored two goals and made three assists for us so far this season. He also seems to be enjoying his time at the club and is obviously proud to wear the blue shirt, I’m delighted for him and hope he continues to progress in this way.
