Malouda to Santos?

Chelsea midfielder Florent Malouda has been frozen out at Stamford Bridge and has been made to train with the youth team for the remainder of his time at the club as he couldn’t find another club during the summer window, could a potential move to Brazil be back on?

The 32-year-old is still a target for Brazilian club Santos, according to calciomercato.com, and that his price tag would be the only thing that will stand in the way of him making the switch. Many reports suggested that it was his fee that prevented any move in the summer as he’s on fairly lucrative wages so clubs were unwilling to play a fee on top of it and I don’t believe there’s any point in Chelsea demanding a nominal fee to let him go, just clear his wage off the books and use the transfer to get a first option on some of the club’s young talent as we did with Deco.

Malouda hasn’t been a regular starter since last season and is surplus to requirements after the arrival of Eden Hazard, Marko Marin, Oscar and Victor Moses.
