Chelsea’s £32m summer arrival Eden Hazard has been voted as the player with the second largest ego in the Premier League, according to a poll run by FootballFanCast.com.

Out of over 1,800 votes, 387 fans (21%) voted the Belgian trickster as the second most big headed after Manchester City cult hero Mario Balotelli who won the gong with 686 votes (38%).

FootballFanCast has been polling 12,000 football fans, picking their brains at what makes a footballer favourable or unfavourable, aiming to reveal a set of respected characteristics amongst supporters.

The set of five individual polls raised by FootballFanCast are hoped to provide a complete profile of modern footballers.

Revealing via his Twitter feed that he would be joining the ‘European Champions’ in a game show-like fashion following on from a long and drawn out summer transfer saga, Hazard was attacked in the media for his so-called ‘flirting’ with numerous football clubs, who were being held to ransom over large transfer fees.

It is without question that the Belgian forward is a fantastic footballer, having dazzled many punditry panels and fans alike during the first eighth of his maiden Premier League campaign, but there seems to be a fine line between confidence and arrogance in the eyes of the supporter.

Making up the numbers in the ego stakes were QPR’s mercurial Moroccan Adel Taarabt with 377 votes (21%), Portuguese pretender Nani with 101 votes (6%) and Spurs’ Emmanuel Adebayor with 91 votes (5%).
