Chelsea winger Florent Malouda has been omitted from our Champions League squad for the upcoming group stages, which has cast further doubt over his future at Stamford Bridge.

Many fans believe that the French midfielder would be happy to sit on his lucrative contract until its expiry in 2013 despite not being a part of Roberto Di Matteo’s plans, but will he get the message that he’s not wanted now?

The 32-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Brazil during the summer but that collapsed due to the player’s high wage demands and he’s proving hard to shift. He hasn’t been a part of any of the matchday squads so far this season. Most fans would prefer to see the back of him and those fans may now get their wish.

Reports of a move back to Lyon have sprung up recently and they may be prepared to hand over £1 million for him as well as taking on his £110k-a-week wages, according to The Metro. It was also said that he may go on loan with a view to a permanent deal but this would effectively mean we are to let him go for free in the summer. If we were to let him go for nothing then I’d much prefer we did something similar to the Deco deal and gain a first option on some Brazilian hopefuls, like Wallace.

Do you think this one will go through?

good deal if we let him go like we did with Deco’s transfer to brazil or at least have 3 or 2 ml from him, i completely disagree with losing him for free, Maluda is still a good player, he played some key role for france in 2012 Euro but is just that Di Matteo dont have him in his plan and we fans dont want to see him playing that Egedege dance with ball anymore. wich him well if he leaves.
