German football club Bayer Leverkusen have confirmed that they have rejected a in excess of €20 million for Andre Schürrle, according to reports.

Chelsea are keen to boost their options in their attacking line and have been linked with moves for the likes of Hulk, Schürrle, Victor Moses and Theo Walcott. But the Bundesliga are keen to hold of their winger Schürrle, who scored nine goals in all competitions for them last season.

Wolfgang Holzhauser, Leverkusen’s chief executive was quoted in the Guardian confirming that they had rejected an approach from the Blues and that the player would prefer to stay at the club:

“We were presented with a very concrete offer from Chelsea for Andre of beyond the €20m mark. The sum was pushed back and forth between the two clubs. We ultimately chose Andre,”

“Andre is very valuable for us. He has also made it clear he would like to stay with us.”

We’ve already added Eden Hazard and Marko Marin to our ranks but, depending on departures, we look sure to add more and I don’t think we’ll be making another bid for Schürrle as the money offered probably exceeds his current value and this could be an attempt to Porto that we will look elsewhere if we have to, and hopefully get them to budge on their unrealistic valuation of Hulk.

Could Schurrle fire Chelsea to the Premier League title this season?
