Chelsea football club have recently announced on their official website that we have completed the signing of Brazilian wonderkid Oscar, from Internacional, for around £25 million.

The 20-year-old is currently on international duty with Brazil and has stated that it’s a dream for him to win gold at the London Olympic games, as well as joining the champions of Europe.

Oscar’s most notable achievement to date was his hat-trick in the final of the Under-20 World Cup against Portugal and he also had a starring role during Brazils 2-0 win over the Great Britain Olympic football team, so he’s caught the eye on the international stages as well as for his club in Brazil, where he scored six goals and made 10 assists in the last campaign.

Oscar becomes Chelsea’s second signing in the last two days after Thorgan Hazard was signed from Lens yesterday. We’ve also signed Belgian playmaker Eden Hazard from Lille and Marko Marin from Werder Bremen.

Oscar’s a clever midfielder with an eye for a pass and although he wears the number 10 shirt for Brazil (and they don’t just give that to anyone), I expect he’ll be playing a slightly deeper role in the Chelsea midfield and am looking forward to seeing him settle in.

But you can see him for action during the Olympic games tomorrow against Egypt in Cardiff, which will kick off at 19:45.

What do you think of Chelsea’s new signing and how do you think he’ll settle in at Stamford Bridge?
