Former Chelsea man could join Di Matteo’s coaching staff
Di Matteo earned himself the job at Chelsea by winning the FA Cup and Champions League for the club last season, a historic achievement that won’t be forgotten by anyone involved at the club and it’s likely that he will keep Eddie Newton on as they worked well together during those successes.
Desailly hasn’t managed at a high level previously but has been linked to a few jobs of late, including a move to Swansea and he has been approached by Ghana to coach the national team on three occasions. Could a job back at Chelsea as a defence coach be the perfect start for Desailly, who was a great defender himself and many argue that John Terry learned a lot from him when he was younger.
