The next Chelsea player set for the exit door?

You would be forgiven for forgetting it but Israel international Yossi Benayoun is still a Chelsea player but may not be for much longer as he has recently suggested that he is close to leaving Stamford Bridge.

The midfielder has only played around 8 games for the Blues since he signed from Liverpool for the 2010/11 Premier League season and spent the last campaign on loan to our London rivals Arsenal, I’m guessing he won’t be missed too much.

Benayoun Tweeteed:

“I hope I will have some news about my future soon.”

It would seem as though the pack is being shuffled at Stamford Bridge as Didier Drogba, Salomon Kalou and Jose Bosingwa. We’ve also signed Marko Marin, Eden Hazard and are likely to add Hulk to that list this summer and with Juan Mata at the club, there’s no room for a player like Benayoun at Chelsea and he’ll be out the door soon.

Last season, Benyoun scored four goals in 10 starts for Arsenal and had a relatively good campaign and won a few fans at the Emirates, yet it seems unlikely that Arsene Wenger is going to move to retain the 32-year-old, albeit according to reports.

His former club West Ham may be keen on bringing back to Upton Park though as they have recently been promoted back into the Premier League from the Championship and would benefit from his experience as they prepare for the challenges of top flight English football.

So, it only seems a matter of time before Yossi Benayoun is penning a new deal at another club and with more signings on the horizon could there be more exits on the cards and, if so, who? Florent Malouda? Michael Essien? Paulo Ferreira? – Have your say in the comments section below
