Portuguese outfit Porto may rethink their stance over Brazilian forward Hulk, who has a release clause for around £85 million and sources in Portugal claim that the 25-year-old could be on his way to Stamford Bridge for £34 million.

Before now Porto have insisted that they will only sell their most prized asset if the minimum fee release clause is paid in full and will maintain that, at least publicly, but it’s thought that they are privately negotiating as the player has allegedly asked if he could go to Chelsea.

Hulk certainly looks to be a player that is built to play in the Premier League with his physical attributes and can play out wide and as a forward, so you can see why Chelsea are reportedly interested in the player but there are also rumours that the deal has become complicated since the sacking of Andre Villas-Boas, who Hulk admired as a manager from his time at Porto.

Do you think Hulk would make a worthy addition to the Chelsea squad or should we stop making these ‘club signings’ and wait for the new man to decide which players he wants?
