Chelsea’s out of favour striker Nicolas Anelka is being linked with an astonishing move to Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua.

The Frenchman who has previously played in France, Spain, Turkey and England could see China as his next possible destination. Anelka’s contract runs out at the end of the season and doesn’t look likely that it will be extended.

Anelka who has previously been linked with a move to Russia, Italy and America doesn’t want to hang his boots just yet and wants to go out with a flourish. According to canal plus, Anelka would see China as an attractive option and would be offered a lucrative salary if he were to move to the Far East. According to reports, Chinese club Shangai may not wait till the summer to test Chelsea’s resilience, and will make a move for the 32-year-old this forthcoming January transfer window.

If Anelka were to leave Stamford Bridge and join Shangai it would be his 9th club in 15 years. He does like to travel it must be said.
