Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is willing to break the bank again after already forking up £50 million on one striker in January in a bid to keep on competing with the European elite.
With Drogba and Anelka being heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, the Blues see the 23-year-old prolific striker as the perfect player to replace the ageing duo.
Red-hot Higuain is a clinical finisher and has been in dazzling form for Real Madrid this season scoring 11 goals in 11 appearances in La Liga. Despite having a tremendous goal to game ratio, Higuain is not a guarantee starter for Madrid which could turn out to be a positive thing for Chelsea.
